Medical Precinct Representative

Although the medical precinct has over 500 students studying medicine, nursing, medical research and paramedics, the presence of TUU on this satellite campus has been rarely felt. My incumbent has initiated a change in this; beginning with hosting morning toasts with TUU representatives and I would like to continue on with this as well as hosting a TUU forum mid-year to discuss student issues.

As a previous member of TUMSS, I am in a position where I know the involvement of the TUU on our campus and would be able to work hand-in-hand with the society to reach outcomes that would benefit students.

What I Want To Do

  1. Bridge the gap between the main campus and health sciences students.
  2. Discussing with the faculty the availability of after-hours study spaces in the new medical sciences 2 building.
  3. Continuing with holding TUU toasts and lunches for students to be able to discuss their worries to members of the SRC and state council.
  4. Supporting the elected SRC by helping and assisting the other members where needed.

Past Experience

  • Tasmanian University Medical Students’ Society (TUMSS) junior medical education representative and active TUMSS subcommittee member.
  • University of Tasmania International Students’ Council member
  • Stage manager for TUU Fiesta international
